In Layman's Terms:
Alright, so let's say you and some of your friends want to have a go-kart race. Before the actual race, there will be a practice round where you can test out your car and get a feel for the track for 5 minutes. Then, there will be a qualifying round where you'll each have 5 minutes to drive your car as fast as you can, and your fastest lap time will be recorded. This time will determine your starting position in the final race.
The final race will be 20 - 15 laps long, which means you'll have to complete 20 - 15 laps around the track. The starting positions will be based on your qualifying times, with the fastest qualifiers starting closer to the front of the pack.
At the end of the race, points will be awarded based on your finishing position. The person who comes in first place will get the most points, and each subsequent position will get one fewer point. For example, if there are 15 racers, the first-place finisher will get 15 points, second place will get 14 points, and so on. If you had the fastest qualifying time, you’d also get a bonus point as a prize for going fast.
At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be the overall winner. If two people have the same number of points, the person with the most podium finishes (meaning they came in first, second, or third place in a race) will be declared the winner.
Mechanical Issues
-
There will be no switching of karts at any time during practice or qualifying sessions unless there is a mechanical failure or accident which causes damage to the kart.
